I purchased the Remington IPL6000USA I-Light Pro through Costco and haven't regretted it a bit. I had my legs, underarms and upper-lip professionally lasered 4 years ago, so I know how painful salon lasering is. I wore yoga pants for two days after each session because my skin was tender and swollen and felt like it was badly sunburnt, but the results were absolutely worth it! It is less than the cost of one session, so I figured that it was worth the risk of it not working.
Let me say that I am fair-skinned and very dark-haired, so I am the ideal candidate for laser. I wouldn't necessarily presume that this works as well for lighter-haired people. My hair grows extraordinarily fast - I was epilating my arms every 5 days and I have already stated that my little black chin-whiskers were popping up daily.
- At-home professional hair removal for a fraction of the cost of in-office visits
- FDA cleared and clinically proven
- Proprietary ProPulse technology delivers results that last 6 months
- Faster treatment times with the quickest flash rate and no downtime for recharging
- Other features include: built-in skin tone sensor, skin contact sensors, five energy levels and corded operation
The pain is only a fraction of the salon laser, so I was pretty skeptical as to its effectiveness, but I still kept at it. The i-Light is extremely easy to use and quite painless although I only
used it on the lowest setting. I do think that it's important to shave
or trim as close as possible because it seems more painful if the area
has more hair. I think this product is perfect for the guys too.
Remington IPL6000USA I-Light Pro Tips:
- Shave as close as possible. Most of the pain and heat I
dealt with was where I got sloppy with my shaving. The closer, the
better.
- Use cocoa butter, or lotion on the areas you zap. I
didn't experience irritation or dryness, but I was pretty quick to
lotion up. It just makes sense to me to lotion after IPLing.
- Set
aside time to do this. It would take me around an hour to do all the
parts I wanted to hit-- which isn't much time, but I needed to sit down
and kind of yoga through some parts. It helped to know that I could sit
on the floor, take my time, and make sure I got all the areas I wanted
without interruption.
- Be patient. I know it is frustrating, and I
know how badly people want results (especially in the face area) but if
you over-do it, you can harm yourself. Just give the system a chance to
work the way it is supposed to.
This Remington IPL6000USA I-Light Pro, Professional IPL Hair Removal System works - and depending on your coloring and hair type, it can
work quite well. Just don't expect "magic" and instant results from a
home-use item. I have found it works best if you put it at the lowest
level.
